Summertime Reruns & Returns

Filed under: Spiritual / Existential, Travel / General — Alias Jones @ 2:04 am

Hello there.

Well, I’m behind on new photos, and I can probably make plenty of excuses why, but I know I need to get caught up. And I will. Soon. ;)

In the interim, I’m replaying some of the photo sets from the trip so far. The one posted now is my first photo set from Portugal. I recall how filled with excitement I was this day, not just because it was my first day out and about in Portugal or on the continent of Europe, but also because it was the beginning of this journey I’m on, whatever it turns out to be.

I felt the potential energy, and the expectation of seeing and learning things that I couldn’t imagine. That was a special feeling… one we rarely feel, and I knew I was at the start of something big… at least big to me.

I hope you enjoy.

Did you know we now have readers in 15 countries? And those are just the ones that I know about. Pretty cool.

I was in Austin today having lunch with my sister and then running some errands. Somebody I was talking to told me about a movie playing at AMC Barton Creek theater called “America: Freedom to Fascism”. Intriguing title. I looked it up on the internet.

Todd David Scwartz of CBS Radio gave it “4 Stars” and called it “the scariest damn movie you’ll see this year” (and it is), and went on to say “you may actually break out in a cold sweat”.

Don’t worry… no plot spoilers here.
The movie is in early release in 5 markets right now, Austin, New York, Chicago, Kansas City and Tampa, with 5 more markets scheduled for next week including Houston and Dallas.

Take a critical yet open mind, and draw your own conclusions.

Fantasy football season is fast approaching. Ok, I’m a dork. Never mind.

Its set. I’m leaving on August 8th, and landing back in Lisbon the morning of the 9th. I expect to be on the road by the 11th. Burning rubber… ;)

  1. There was a beautiful full moon last night…I thought about how nice it would have been to have had it that night at Enchanted Rock, but then we wouldn’t have had that conversation and decided it was perfect the way it was. :)

Glad you’re on the road again…Be Safe and keep smiling.

  3. Good man - glad to see you’ll be back on the road - the last 2 weeks for me has been a bit crazy - i’m in northwest Latvia now (a town called Ventspils) - very beautiful Baltic beach town after hitching here from a boiling hot (48 degrees!) Faro, Portugal. - took 5 days, excluding the week i lost my passport, went to the embassy and discovered they’d found it :)

Anyway, give me a should when you’re in the Italy area - i’ll be around croatia or albania around october - not so far away :) will see what i can do..

    Take care, and bon voyage..
