Happy New Year!

Filed under: Turkey — Alias Jones @ 11:26 am

I’m safely back on the peninsula after a great week of hitching around the southern coast of Turkey.  Lots of great photos and interesting stories to share with you.  I should have my laptop back in my hands in another day or so and will get straight to work on it for you.

In the meantime, have a most enjoyable and safe New Year.

It seems like its a time of transition for so many of us in the world, and I’m expecting great things all around in the next 12 months.  I was having a conversation just today about how times of transition feel pretty awkward to everyone involved, and we’ll have some of those days, too - individually and societially - but we always get through them.  Don’t forget that.

So… back to you soon with fun stuff.  Know that I love you all, and I’ll be back to you next year… ;)

Peace & Love in the World (and at your house, too!),

  1. Interesting how you point out the machinations of the economic (capitalistic if you will) market place. For those of you not educated on this, they are called bull and bear markets. As an FYI, Bush inherited a rather bearish market, as it started to have a downturn in the Spring of 2000. He was elected in Fall of 2000. Given his economic tax stimulus package (read: tax cuts), he was able to take us out of the bear market and into a rather nice bull market for roughly 7 1/2 years, notwithstanding 9/11. So, Sam, I ask you, what were you doing during this bull market? Ah yes, you were being a capitalist like the rest of us and making hay. Fortunately, you were able to parlay were capital gains into a plan to travel and see the world, for which I am happy were you able to do so. Given the current economic conditions, there is a 50/50 chance we will be entering into another bear market, but these as it turn out, are cyclical. We are a great country, and for that matter, a great global market (read: foreign markets), and given the decency and hardworking virtues of humanity, we will pull out of this. Quit spewing the vitriol I am so accustomed to seeing on this thread. IF YOU BELIEVE IN THE HUMANITY OF THIS RACE, HAVE FAITH IN US. DON’T ASSUME THERE IS A GODDAMN CONSPIRACY BEHIND EVERYTHING. I GUARANTEE THERE IS NOT. HAVE FAITH IN US, MY BROTHER. WE WILL DO YOU PROUD. TRUST ME.

  2. Too assume that those that don’t think like you are all part of a group think conspiracy is ludicrous. Don’t denigrate those that don’t espouse the same beliefs as you. There is a place you aspire for and it is called FantasyLand, found either at Disneyworld in Orlando, FL or Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. Come on, join the rest of us, Sam.

    Happy New Year.

Iyi Bayramlar

Filed under: Turkey, Spiritual / Existential — Alias Jones @ 1:48 am

Or… Happy Bayram.

Its that time of year here in Turkey, and in the Muslim, faith known as Bayram.  This celebration is all about giving, forgiving, and loving.

A beautiful thing.

Peace, Love & Giving and Forgiving,
